The Improved IHC Cam Position Sensor replaces the Ford stock cam position sensor on the 7.3 L Powerstroke engine.
The Cam Position Sensor controls engine timing and firing. The Cam Position Sensor lets the Engine Control Module know the cam position for timing and fueling. A malfunctioning cam position sensor will cause a no start condition or rough running due to improper timing and fueling. Carry an extra cam position sensor in your powerstroke for quick repairs.
